The Orlando Magic will march into the All-Star break one game above .500 after Wednesday evening's 103-91 victory against the Portland Trailblazers. The Magic had three players score at least 20 points, led by Hedo Turkoglu's 24 points. Darko Milicic added a career-high 21 points, while Dwight Howard scored 20 points and had 16 rebounds.

The Magic and Blazers played very close to one another through the first 20 minutes of the game before Orlando pulled away to lead by 13 points at halftime. They continued to pound away in the second half, building as much as a 21-point lead and putting the game out of Portland's grasp in the fourth quarter.

Carlos Arroyo, filling in for a flu-ridden Jameer Nelson, finished with 15 points and a season-high seven assists for Orlando.

Zach Randolph led Portland with 28 points, while rookie Brandon Roy added 19.

FOURTH QUARTER
A pair of Darko free throws get the fourth quarter off to a solid start and put Orlando up by 21 points. Darko now has 19 points, tying his career high. It looks like Redick just got hit in the nose as he was fouling Randolph as he went in for a layup. He is replaced on the floor by Turkoglu, but it looks like Redick could return to the game. Magic still hold an 18-point lead with 8:49 remaining in the fourth.

Milicic is fouled and heads to the free throw line. He knocks down both and now has a new career-high of 21 points. Magic lead by 18, 88-70. Turkoglu follows that by banking one off the glass, while drawing the foul. He hits the free throw and has 24 points. Orlando's two European products are coming through tonight with Nelson, Hill, Battie and Ariza sidelined. Turkoglu and Milicic have combined for 45 points.

Howard just picked up another basket, giving him 20 points for the game. That's the fourth straight game now that Howard has scored at least 20 points. He joins Turkoglu and Milicic in the 20 plus club tonight. Portland calls timeout, down by 18 points with 2:59 left in the game.

James Augustine checks in for his second game of action this season. The Magic have a 16-point lead with 1:40 left. Redick just nailed a nice fake/turnaround jumper on Dan Dickau as the game approaches its final minute. Magic going to head into the All-Star break with a nice victory against the Portland Trailblazers.

Final: Orlando Magic 103, Portland Trailblazers 91

THIRD QUARTER
The Magic start the second half on a positive note as the first defensive possession ends with a stop and the first on the offensive end results in Hedo wide open under the bucket for an easy layup. Hedo then sinks his second three on this evening and the Magic have a 57-40 lead. After a Randolph basket, Hedo puts the ball on the floor and then lays it in. He now has a game-high 16 points and its looking more and more like that recent shooting drought has ended.

Howard rebounds a Turkoglu miss and lays it back in to give him 14 points on 6-of-8 shooting. He also has 13 rebounds. Milicic then slams down a feed from Arroyo to keep the Magic alive by 14, 63-49. The Magic has done a great job passing the ball tonight and currently have 18 assists to only seven turnovers. Arroyo has seven assists to go along with eight points and three rebounds.

Keith Bogans hits another three and Orlando is 5-of-9 from beyond the arc so far. Darko follows that with a layup and the lead is now 19 - the biggest of the game. Randolph banks one in to move within 17. He has 17 points on 8-of-21 shooting. Darko is fouled and goes to the free throw line where he sinks both shots and has 17 points for the game. Brandon Roy nails a three for Portland, but their deficit is still 16 - make that 18 after an Arroyo jumper - in the final two minutes of the quarter.

Dooling beats Udoka to the basket as Orlando again moves ahead by 19 as the third quarter comes to a close.

End of Third Quarter: Orlando Magic 81, Portland Trailblazers 62

SECOND QUARTER
The Blazers take the lead on their opening possession of the quarter on a Juan Dixon three to grab a 23-21 lead. The Magic get the ball inside to the All-Star and Dwight is fouled while going up for his shot. He heads to the free throw line where he sinks the first shot and also hits the second to tie the game. Travis Diener and Keyon Dooling check in for the Magic. Travis Outlaw then banks one off the glass for two, but Keyon finds J.J. Redick wide open and the rookie slams down a three-pointer. Roy misses a shot for Portland and Redick rebounds the ball, passes to Diener, who sees Howard on the fastbreak. Howard has the open floor and throws down a one-handed rim shaker as Orlando takes a three-point lead.

Down by one, Diener gets his first two points of the game - nailing an outside jumper just before the shot-clock expired. Jamaal Magloire, who came off the bench for Portland, hits a two at the other end and has six points in the game. At the other end, Redick hits one from outside and the Magic have a one-point lead once again, 34-33.

After the timeout, the Magic once again are down by a point, but take advantage of a Blazers turnover to get on the fastbreak and Arroyo finishes with a layup. Arroyo then adds a jumper on the next trip and the Magic lead is three, 38-35. After another Portland miss, Arroyo this time feeds the beast and Howard slams down another alley-oop. Portland calls timeout. Magic lead, 40-35, with 2:57 remaining until halftime.

After keeping the Blazers in the game through the first 20 minutes, Orlando is quickly pulling away as the first half comes to a close. It's now a 12-point Magic lead. Randolph hits a hook shot to bring the Blazers back within 10, but Keith Bogans sinks a three at the other end for the Magic. Randolph hits another layup, but is only 4-of-13 for the game. Arroyo knocks down a jump shot and the Blazers will hold for the final possession of the half, down by 13 points, 52-39. Blazers call timeout with 16.7 seconds left and the shot-clock also at 16 ticks. Roy drives inside, but has his shot blocked by Darko and the half comes to close. Magic on top by 13 points.

Halftime: Orlando Magic 52, Portland Trailblazers 39

FIRST QUARTER
The opening tip goes to Orlando and the Magic quickly get on the board as Hedo Turkolgu feeds dunking-wizard Dwight Howard for an easy two. Zach Randolph misses outside on his first attempt and the Magic take over possession. Hedo adds a layup on the Magic's next possession, but Portland takes over the lead thanks to a three from Jarrett Jack and a jumper by Randolph. The Magic regained the lead as Carlos Arroyo sends one inside to Dwight and he throws down dunk No. 2 in the opening quarter.

Turkoglu helps give Orlando its biggest lead of the night after hitting a three-pointer, followed by a layup on the following possession. The Magic lead, 13-8, at the 5:26 mark.

The last few minutes have been a very even matchup with Orlando maintaining a five-point lead before Portland scored on several occasions to pull back within three. On the most recent series, Howard scores on a lay in and Brandon Roy's jumper brings the Blazers back within three in the final minute of the quarter. Orlando failed to convert on the next possession as Turkoglu attempted to alley-oop to Howard and Roy scored on a layup for Portland to make it a one-point game, 21-20, with less than 10 seconds left in the period.

End of First Quarter: Orlando Magic 21, Portland Trailblazers 20

Orlando Magic Forward/Center Dwight Howard:
(On playing in All-Star game)
“I’m very excited, I can’t sleep at night. Every night I’m thinking about the All-Star game, the dunk contest, what an opportunity though to represent my family and the Orlando Magic.”

Orlando Magic Forward Darko Milicic:
“It feels good, we’ve talked about our struggles before and we talked about finishing before this little break on a positive note, finishing with a win and staying above .500”

(On 1 yr. anniversary w/ Magic)
“It feels great, it feels great. Just playing with Dwight, it’s really great and tonight was my best game.”

“As soon as I got here, I tried to focus on Orlando and focus on my future here.”

(On his last 4 games)
“Playing with Dwight, they have to double him every time and a lot of times, I get open shots because of him. People are going to rotate and double him and I open and I get some easy shots. I just enjoy playing with these guys, you know. For me, it’s a chance to play and it’s a different experience. I love it.”

Orlando Magic Guard Carlos Arroyo:
(On 1 yr. anniversary w/ Magic)
“It’s been a great experience so far. I’m blessed to be here, I’m grateful to be here. I’m always thankful for the opportunity the franchise has given me. I play minutes and contribute which is what I always wanted. Hopefully this will be for many years to come. This would be something positive. Stability is the most important thing for myself and my family. I’m on a team that I’ve settled.”

(On Darko’s improvement in last yr.)
“A lot, you guys seen it. You’ve seen the progress and with minutes and he’s going to get experience and he’s going to contribute the way he’s supposed to contribute. He’s growing right now. A lot of people say that this is he first year in the league; he really hasn’t gotten the opportunity for play minutes and contribute right now. We all can see how good he’s getting and how much he’s progressing the last year or so. I think all he needs is confidence and minutes.”

“It was very important for us to win this last game before the All-Star break. We all know how tough of a stretch we’re going to see ourselves after the All-Star weekend. It’s going to be a tough two weeks for us, on the road and playing Detroit and teams like Dallas and San Antonio, teams that are playing great right now. It’s going to be a great test for us and we need to come ready to go. We need to focus on the part on the last part of the season and realize that every game counts now. We have to play every game like it’s the play-offs now.”

Portland Trailblazers Guard Brandon Roy:
On the Magic’s run before halftime
“They made a lot of shots, and we just ran out of a little gas. We got beat up pretty good last night in Miami and guys just didn’t bring the same effort tonight for 48 minutes.”

On the inside play of Darko and Dwight
“It made it difficult to defend, because they have Darko and Dwight on each side, and we tried to help, and they both did a good job of kicking it out to the shooters, and they made shots. They’re a tough team to play against, especially when you don’t bring the energy or the effort.”

On if the Blazers were sluggish after their game last night
“Yeah, we had a number of guys who were sluggish, and when you play a team that has had three days off, they’re ready to go and they want to end it on a good note [before the all-star break], and they took care of business early, and that’s the way it goes.”

Portland Trailblazers Forward Jamaal Magloire:
On Dwight Howard
“It’s difficult, because he commands a lot of attention and he’s relentless, as far as getting second opportunities at the basket. I mean you can prevent him from shooting, or block his shot one time, but he’s so relentless trying to get his shot and get another opportunity at the basket, that he is effective in that way.”

On the Magic’s run before halftime
“I thought our focus could have been a lot better. I thought having a young team like we have, we strayed a little bit from the game plan, and they capitalized on that.”
