RECAP
The Magic handed the short-handed Miami Heat a 107-91 loss to extend their home winning steak to five games.
Eastern Conference Player of the Week, Hedo Turkoglu, continued his stellar play of late scoring a team-high 27 points to go along with 12 rebounds.

Ricky Davis had 21 points for Miami (9-35) who have dropped 17 out of their last 18 games.
Orlando heads back out onto the road traveling to Philadelphia to face the 76ers Friday night.
FOURTH QUARTER
The Heat score the first four points of the final period to bring them within three points. The Magic quickly answer with four straight of their own as they lead 87-80 three minutes into the fourth.
Dwight Howard throws down a monster one-handed slam to put the Magic up by double digits causing Pat Riley to call a timeout. The Heat have held Howard somewhat in check as Dwight has scored 14 points and grabbed nine rebounds.
Arroyo hits two from the charity stripe to give the Magic a 15 point lead at the halfway mark in the fourth. The Magic have outscored the Heat 27-14 from the free-throw line tonight.
Dooling scores four straight points for the Magic and Turk strokes two more from the line. With those two free-throws the Magic have tied their season-high total of 31 free-throws made. Overall, the Magic have shot a formidable 81 percent (31-of-38) as a team from the line.
Turk nets two more from the line and increases the Magic lead to 20 points at 103-83 with 4:23 remaining.
Not sure why Howard, Lewis, and Turk are still in the game at this point but either way Turk is making his bid for the All-Star game as he takes the ball to the hoop for his 27th point. The Magic lead 105-87 as we head toward the two minute warning. Turkoglu has 11 rebounds and five assists to go along with his game-high point total.
The Magic take care of business beating the Miami Heat 107-91 extending their home winning steak to give games.
Final: Orlando Magic 107, Miami Heat 91
THIRD QUARTER
The Magic walked their way to an 11 point lead at the half. They out-rebounded Miami 27-16 while outscoring the Heat in second chance points and points in the paint by over double digits.
The Heat score the first three points of the half but Turk ends that streak with a layup. Ricky Davis makes a layup bringing Van Gundy up off the bench to call a timeout with the Magic leading 65-57 three minutes into the third period.
Turk becomes the fourth Magic double figure scorer as he converts a three-point play. The teams go back-and-forth and a three by Mo Evans puts the Magic up by ten.
Luke Jackson scores six straight Heat points to bring Miami within six points as the teams continue to go back-and-forth. I think the players on both sides are just looking for their own points with Miami having nothing to play for and the Magic going up against an inferior opponent because there is no defense being played. The teams go back-and-forth and the Magic lead 76-69 with five minutes remaining in the third quarter.
Nelson throws a pass to an open mildly obese man in a baby Dwight Howard t-shirt jersey sitting in the sixth row, but the man was not ready for the pass, and the Magic commit their tenth turnover of the game.
Turkoglu scores his 11th point of the quarter giving him a game-high 19 points as the Magic lead 80-71 at the two minute mark in the third.
Hedo is just going to work on Ricky Davis who is two short and defensively inept to keep up with Turkoglu who buckets another jumper.
The quarter ends with a pair of Chris Quinn free-throws as the Magic hold onto an 83-76 lead.
End of Third: Orlando Magic 83, Miami Heat 76
SECOND QUARTER
Adonal Foyle provides instant offense to start the second period scoring six points giving the Magic a 38-30 lead three minutes into the quarter.
Ricky Davis kicks a ball out of bounds and Pat Riley looks like he is two D-League players away from a halfway home.
Lewis converts a three-point play to give the Magic a 42-34 advantage at the halfway mark in the second period.
Arroyo nails a jumper and Howard splits a pair from the charity stripe as the Magic hold their largest lead at 11 points.
Back-to-back jumpers by the Heat forces a timeout from a furious Van Gundy with the Magic still clinging to a six point lead. Expect the Magic to get a scolding in the timeout and come out with more intensity.
The Magic come out of the timeout and get two hustle offensive boards leading to a Lewis three-point basket but Williams quickly answers with a trey of his own.

Turk gets an offensive rebound and feeds Howard for an alley-oop plus the foul. Howard misses the free-throw but his dunk gave the Magic a 14-0 advantage in second chance points.
Jason Williams relives his "White Chocolate" days making a twelve step move to the basket for flashy bucket. Arroyo nails a jumper to end the half with the Magic leading 63-52.
Halftime: Orlando Magic 63, Miami Heat 52
FIRST QUARTER
Hey Magic fans, welcome back to Amway Arena for tonight's game as the Magic and Heat square off for Florida bragging rights. Well...not really...the Heat are pretty bad and the Magic have already beat the Heat twice this season, so I guess it is just a Southeast Division rivalry match-up.
As mentioned below...the Heat are missing half their team including Dwyane Wade, Shaq, Udonis Haslem, and Alonzo Mourning, and the Magic are at full strength. The Magic come to center court with Arroyo, Evans, Turkoglu, Lewis, and Howard. The Heat counter with Jason Williams, Ricky Davis, Luke Jackson, Dorell Wright, and Mark Blount.
Howard wins the opening tap and the Magic get off to a great start as Hedo finds Dwight for a pretty alley-oop. Lewis tracks down a loose ball and feeds Evans who converts a layup to put the Magic ahead 4-0 early.
This game feels like night and day compared to the last two thrillers we have had here at Amway, but let's hope the Magic don't let that effect their effort on the floor. I am not going to lie, it's only three minutes into the game and I am already people watching.
Arroyo throws a perfect half court pass to Evans who flushes home a two-handed slam to give the Magic an 8-4 lead four minutes into the opening period.
Turk strokes two free-throws and Ricky Davis answers with a triple. Evans taps back out to Arroyo for a second chance opportunity and rewards himself by canning a three from the wing. The lethargic start has picked up a bit as Wright hits a three for the Heat, Evans answers with one of his own, and the Heat hit back-to-back long range jumpers. The Magic lead 16-15 as we approach four minutes remaining in the first quarter.
Both teams have not shot well to begin the game as Orlando has shot 33 percent and Miami has shot 35 percent from the field.
Maurice Evans has been such a great addition to this team because he brings energy at both ends every single night, and tonight is no different as Mo has scored 10 of the Magic's 16 points thus far.
The Eastern Conference Player of the Week, Hedo Turkoglu, buckets a jumper and Keith Bogans gets an easy transition bucket as the Magic go up by five. Ricky Davis and Luke Jackson score back-to-back baskets for the Heat as they tie up the ballgame at 20 with 1:52 left in the first.
Bogans nails a triple from the corner but Jason Williams answers with a jumper to put the Heat ahead 24-23. Jameer Nelson is in the game for the Magic, and it is good to see Nelson back out on the floor after suffering a foot injury which has caused him to miss the last couple of games. Chris Quinn also checks in for the Heat, and he can't be over the age of 12.
Turk drives by the Heat defense and soars to the basket for a one-handed slam to give the Magic a 27-24 lead as we head under a minute.
Nelson gets fouled on a three-point attempt with 2.3 seconds remaining and heads to the line to shoot three. He makes all three to end the first period with the Magic leading 30-25.
End of First: Orlando Magic 30, Miami Heat 25
KEYS TO THE GAME
Come To Play There is only one key to tonight's game...come to play. Orlando severely over-mans Miami tonight, so the Magic must come out and play their game rather than playing to the Heat's level. If the Magic come focused and ready to take care of business, they should have no problem tonight.
As Coach Van Gundy alluded to below, the Heat has nothing to play for, and that makes them a scary opponent tonight. Miami was in a similar situation earlier this season when they took a depleted squad without Wade and Shaq into Dallas and nearly beat a very good Mavericks team. The Magic must not let the Heat hang around tonight, build an early lead, and keep their foot on the gas.
SHOOTAROUND
The Miami Heat came to shootaround Wednesday morning at Amway Arena with a 9-34 record having lost 16 out of their last 17 games including last night's 30 point loss to Boston at home.
Things could not get any worse for the Heat, right? Wrong...their two top players and starters, shooting guard Dwyane Wade (25.3 ppg, 6.7 apg) and power forward Undonis Haslem (12.1 ppg, 9.3 rpg) did not make the trip to Orlando with injuries.
Wade is suffering from flu-like symptoms and Haslem is nursing a sprained right ankle. Add them to the Heat's already lengthy injured list which includes Shaquille O'Neal and Alonzo Mourning, and you have a D-League starting lineup going against the Magic tonight.
There in lies the problem for the Magic...after the tough, emotional week against superb teams, how do the Magic mentally come out strong against the depleted Heat squad?
Head coach Stan Van Gundy offered up some of his past experiences to the team as they come into a game of this nature.
"On a one game deal, anything can happen in this league," stated Van Gundy, "especially when a team has nothing to lose."
Van Gundy recalled a coaching experience early on in his career with the Heat in which a short-handed Miami team went out and beat Michael Jordan's Chicago Bulls by 20 points.
"We had just made a big five player trade and had some guys on the floor that nobody knew about but they came out with nothing to lose and took it to a very good Bulls team."
Van Gundy continued, "It is going to be a real maturity test, and I can issue every warning to them, but it ultimately comes down to how they want to come out and play."
Expect the team to come out strong after a solid practice yesterday and a focused shootaround this morning as they look to extend their Southeast Division lead.
PREGAME
At the start of the season, the Miami Heat were predicted by many NBA experts to win their fourth straight Southeast Division title.
Fast forward three months, and the Miami Heat find themselves with the worst record in the Eastern Conference at 9-34, 17 games behind the Southeast Division leading Magic.
Trades, injuries, and the deterioration of veteran players have all resulted in the Heat's downward spiral which came to its peak this past week when they lost an NBA season high 15 straight games.
The Heat eventually ended that streak by beating the Indiana Pacers on Saturday, but the immediate future does not look bright in Miami.
Dwyane Wade has provided the only light for the Heat this season averaging 25.3 points (5th in the NBA) while dishing out a team-high 6.7 assists per game.
Wade has torched up the Magic this season averaging 40.0 points, 8.5 rebounds, and 6.5 assists in two losing efforts.
In those two wins...the Magic have averaged 120.5 points with Hedo Turkoglu averaging 24.5 points and Dwight Howard averaging 23 points and 17 rebounds in those victories.
Howard, the league's top rebounder at 14.9 boards a night, should have a monster game on the glass facing a Heat squad without the services of Shaquille O'Neal (left hip) and Alonzo Mourning (right knee)...not to mention, the Heat rank dead last in team rebounding at 38.81 rebounds per game.
Miami also ranks dead last in scoring, averaging just 92.95 points per game, nearly 11 points fewer than the Magic's average.
The Magic will hope to improve their season record to 3-0 against their interstate rivals while extending their home winning streak to five games at Amway Arena on Wednesday night.
MAGIC INJURY REPORT
